About us

We are a micro-farmstead that sprouted at it’s current home in January of 2017.

Formerly, we were a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) micro-farmstead sharing our Heritage poultry, vegetables and herbs within our Hub zoned and Census Bureau recognized community, Silver City.

We used sustainable, organic methods in our gardens. We also used non-GMO seeds that were sourced from only within the United States.

We did our very best to locate, grow and propagate Heritage plant varieties that bred true, were naturally hardy, vigorous, resistant to disease and pests, productive, and that didn’t require extreme measures to care for them.

These same principles were also applied to our Heritage poultry, which was chosen from the Livestock Conservancy’s list of Critically Endangered breeds.

We still believe in these practices, will consistently implement and refine them, and they’ll continue to be a cornerstone of what we now bring to our community and subscribers.

Particularly in the world of cut flowers, where 80% of those blooms sold in the United States are imported and use non-sustainable mass farming methods, we have chosen to focus on locally grown Heritage boutique and exotic flower varities.

By doing so, we wholeheartedly believe that we can help educate our suburban and urban friends and families. We’d like them to understand where their lovely blooms have traditionally come from, and how that has negatively affected the environment. We’d like to enlighten them to the advantages of locally grown bouquets. And we’d like for them to have the opportunity to embrace and cherish every life stage of the exquisite, exotic Heritage fresh cut flower varities we have available for purchase.

We are now preparing exciting information about our new Heritage boutique and exotic fresh-cut flower subscription service!

Details about this intriguing new virtual experience will be posted beginning 1 March 2020, with subscriptions beginning 15 March 2020 for summer, fall and winter seasonals.
